Appreciation and Gratitude at the End of the School Year

Our final weeks at JB for this school year have been so memorable. The students have had a range of exciting events including sports days, house events, day trips, a biathlon, Founders Day and various trips to EP.

This week we had our first in person assemblies for a very long time. Our Year 6 Leavers Assembly involved students, staff and parents. There was a wonderful atmosphere in our Main Hall as we celebrated the success of Year 6 and wished them well as they move to Secondary.

Yesterday we bid farewell to our leaving staff and some of our Year 6 students led the assembly as we said goodbye and thank you to our staff moving on from Alice Smith.

Today all of our students, teaching assistants and teachers gathered for our end of year assemblies. The atmosphere was incredible as we reflected on the learning that took place across the entire year, the many challenges we have faced and the amazing growth made by all our students.

Students model of the campusFounders Day also took place this week. Students were set the challenge of building a structure of the JB campus. The collaboration, enthusiasm and creativity demonstrated by the students brought such a positive energy all across the school. Teachers were blown away by the finished models. We also gathered in our Main Hall this week to thank our large team of support staff as I thanked them on behalf of the school for the important work they do to keep our campus safe, clean and such a lovely place to be.

Adding to the feelings of reconnection these last few weeks have been our joint Principal/PTA coffee mornings. I am very grateful for the PTA’s work in arranging these and allowing me to meet so many parents in person. These have been a huge success and will continue on a regular basis next year. Our parents and PTA also did a wonderful job in providing amazing food for all our staff on Staff Appreciation Day.

It has been the most wonderful end to the school year with so many events allowing us all to reconnect in person and experience our incredible community spirit. I would like to express my appreciation and thanks to all staff, parents and students for their support this school year and wish you all a safe and happy holiday.

Best wishes
