Primary Weekly Highlights

What an amazing week this has been! For the first time in over two and a half years our students enjoyed playtimes at the JB campus and our parents were permitted to walk onto campus to bring their child to school.

The noise of play times has restored the one major social element of school that has been missing for so long. Children have been engaging in a wide range of play opportunities across the school during play times this week. The football field has been very popular but so too have our climbing frames and our basketball courts along with a variety of games such as skipping, construction and badminton. The option to engage in a more relaxed and quiet activity has also been available to students and many have chosen to stay in shaded areas to draw or play tabletop games with their friends.

As a result of playtimes, happiness levels have soared across the campus with our students thriving amongst the range of social opportunities play times have brought.

Another exciting development has been the return of our parents. It has been wonderful to welcome our parents back onsite and see them walk their children to class. The children have really enjoyed this too although quite a number of children have insisted on only allowing their parents to walk so far as they wish to maintain their independence!

We hosted two parent events this week; a coffee morning organised by our PTA for our Preschool parents and Music Moments for students and parents of Year 6. Again being able to host such events face to face meant so much to everyone involved. We had some incredible individual performances within Music Moments and it was especially enjoyable for the parents who attended.

The relaxation of SOPs has allowed us to reconnect in a number of ways as a school community and we will continue to offer numerous opportunities for students, parents and teachers to engage with one another as the term progresses.

Have a great weekend,
