Community & Charity House Day

One of the many great activities to choose from on House Day last week was a new event, the 'Is it cake?' edible sculpture challenge! πŸ°πŸŽ‚ Representatives from our four Houses, Scott, Fleming, Muir and Fairfield were challenged with this simple project brief: Create an edible sculpture of everyday objects.

They had to

  1. Produce a sculpture of a man-made object or food based product, that appears to be representational but is actually made from food.
  2. The sculpture needed to be developed to be larger in scale than actual size.

and they only had 90 mins to make them!

True to form our student participants produced a wide range of sculptures from bananas, to ducks, from soup cans to sushi and from Spongebob to watermelon! You can check out the photos on Flickr  or click the image below to see what a wonderful range of creative designs were produced.

Our overall winners with their peeled banana cake were Fairfield, with Scott 2nd, Fleming 3rd and Muir 4th.

Congratulations to all the participants and this was of course only one of a multitude of activities for our Secondary Students to choose from on House Day!  Check out the photos here to see highlights of the others!
