We are thrilled to share some exciting news with you. Thanks to the hard work and dedication of our Primary Campus Eco Club, we have been awarded the prestigious Eco Schools Bronze Award ! It is a fantastic achievement that highlights our commitment to making our school more environmentally friendly and sustainable.
Students have undertaken numerous tasks that have contributed to this fantastic achievement. Our main eco project last year was ‘reducing waste with polished plates’! Our eco students put in a lot of hard work to help staff and their peers understand how important it is to not waste food and only take what they can eat.
Did you know that a shocking 1.6 billion tons of food gets thrown away around the world every single year? That's as heavy as 2667 Petronas Twin Towers! This is why it is so important for us to think about portion sizes and not waste our food.
We will continue to work on reducing food waste this year whilst also starting other important projects with the eco team at the Secondary Campus. Starting this October, the Secondary Campus is also taking a big step towards sustainability. There will be a small charge for the use of plastic cups at the Canteen and Deli.

Finally, we want to say a big THANK YOU to all students and staff who have contributed to this achievement. This is just the beginning of our exciting eco journey!
