As part of our ongoing commitment to providing an exceptional learning environment, we are thrilled to announce a significant update to our School Master Plan. Over the years, we have undertaken various projects to redevelop both our Primary and Secondary Campuses, with the ultimate goal of continuously improving our students', educators’ and communities' learning and teaching experience.
To excel as a world-class school, it is essential to establish a comprehensive Master Plan that aligns with our strategic goals. This involves evaluating our existing facilities, identifying future needs and objectives, and devising a cohesive long-term plan to accomplish these goals. We are delighted to share that we have engaged the expertise of A/Prof Ben Cleveland from the University of Melbourne and a team from Mcildowie Partners to assist in the development of a new Master Plan for our school.
A/Prof Ben Cleveland, Co-Director of LEarN and Associate Professor in Learning Environments at the University of Melbourne's Faculty of Architecture, Building & Planning, brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in creating innovative learning spaces. Craig Brown and his team from Mcildowie Partners, renowned for their work in independent schools across Australia and New Zealand, offer an exceptional level of expertise in designing contemporary spaces for learning and establishing community hubs through school facilities. Their involvement in the development of our new Master Plan instil confidence in its success.
A successful Master Plan connects the school's vision with its community's values, aspirations, and challenges. The listening phase is crucial in establishing this connection. To ensure that our Master Plan truly reflects the needs and aspirations of our community, Ben Cleveland and the Mcildowie Partners team will conduct a series of workshops with the Council of Governors, School Leadership Team, and representatives of Staff, Students, Parents, and Alumni.
These workshops are not just opportunities for our community to share their thoughts, ideas, and aspirations for the future of our school. They are crucial steps in our journey, as we believe that by working together, we can create a Master Plan that not only enhances our learning environment but also fosters a sense of community and belonging among our students, staff, and alumni. Your input is invaluable and integral to this process.
We look forward to sharing the outcomes of these workshops and the progress of our Master Plan in the coming months. As members of the Alice Smith Schools Association, our community’s continued support and enthusiasm for our school's growth and development is critical for the success of these developments and investments.
Stay tuned for updates on our School Master Plan and how you can get involved in shaping the future of our school.
