In a bold step forward for student-athletes, our school is investing in our tennis provision with upgraded facilities and ambitious competitive initiatives. These enhancements vastly improve our students' tennis experience, creating a new environment for talent development, sportsmanship, and international partnerships.

Tennis Court Improvements

We’re investing in the infrastructure to support our aspiring tennis players and champions at every level.

Key upgrades to our tennis facilities include:

  • Six covered hard courts: Fully enclosed for year-round play, shielding players from Malaysia’s tropical weather while maintaining professional-grade surfaces.
  • ITF Certified Grade 3 Courts: Officially recognised by the International Tennis Federation, these courts meet global standards for high-level training and sanctioned events.
  • Two pickleball courts: Catering to the rising popularity of this dynamic sport, offering versatile spaces for students to cross-train and explore new racket sports.
  • Spectator seating: Comfortable retractable seating to create an electric atmosphere for matches, galas, and community events.

Located at our Secondary Campus in Taman Equine, these facilities will blend cutting-edge design with natural surroundings to ensure optimal performance and enjoyment.

Funding this Project

As a not-for-profit school, we reinvest all funds into our teaching and learning spaces and resources. Reserves support capital projects and improvements such as campus extensions, refurbishments and new learning facilities. Projects are identified and planned through our Masterplan, a long-term buildings maintenance and investment plan overseen by our Masterplan subcommittee, chaired by our Council of Governors.

Upcoming Season of Competitive Tennis

Our vision extends beyond courts to the global stage. We’re gearing up to host the SEASAC Division 1 Boys and Girls Tennis Tournament, a marquee event drawing 128 student-athletes from 10 schools across Thailand, the Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong. We’re hosting the event at Bukit Kiara Equestrian and Country Club this year while construction on our courts is underway.

This 3.5-day showcase will feature UTR Ranking Tournament play, providing official ratings that propel players toward college scholarships and pro pathways. Culminating in a glamorous gala dinner, the event celebrates achievements and offers networking opportunities for families, coaches, and partners.

These developments aren’t just about winning matches; they’re about building resilient leaders through local, national and global sports collaborations. Join us as we serve up a brighter future for tennis at Alice Smith School.
